Ah Wan goes shopping!

The Great Singapore Sale is here again! Yay!

Actually i had already started buying before the sale started, heh...but then the sale gives me more excuse to buy =P Especially now that i need to dress more formally for my new job, there's even more reason to shop!

Today after work (a not really fruitful meeting at ulu Tuas), my supervisor dropped me at Cityhall and i proceeded to Esprit to check out their items. I'm quite selective about the stuff i buy (even if it's on sale) so only tried on a few items and currently 2 items are on my list: a white jacket @ $119.90 and a leather belt @ $69.90. And i won't be getting the items at these prices coz i have a great lobang to get them at 50% off!! So happy!! But got to rush home for dinner so didn't really shop thoroughly...going to return to Esprit for a second round before giving Trina my shopping list!

2 months of sale seems long but you'll find that it's gone in a flash (since i'm always buying stuff, sale or not). I really luuuuuuurve to shop and there's so many places i wana go! But must wait till next weekend...coz my work is really keeping me busy and too lazy to go shopping on weekdays.

This week is especially crazy...with 2 accounts under me going through contract renewal, meetings and stuff, time flies by! But it's good in a way coz i'm doing meaningful stuff and it's really fulfilling. I just hope i can learn the ropes faster!

The Da Vinci Code -- The Movie

Watched The Da Vinci Code last Saturday. The movie really doesn't do justice to the book. Go to "Reviews" at the sidebar for my take on it...

Woo, i've finally finished watching 大长今! Contrary to what i feared (of a lousy ending), the last 7 episodes developed quite well. It could end off there and then of coz (after all the bad peopl died/ banished from court)...but the last few episodes were touching and nice to watch.

Now what i am missing out is only the initial 20+ episodes... =P

大长今 Fever

Watched the first episode on channel u then didn't really bother to follow through. But as it got more exciting with the cooking competitions and stuffs, me and Zuyao have been hooked on it! We bought the DVD in Shanghai (burned version) for $20 so have been watching it "diligently", haha...Have caught the 62nd episode and really feel that it can end liao leh...since all the bad people are either dead or banished from their "court". There's 8 more episodes to go so really dunno how they are going to develop the story...hope there'll be a nice and satisfactory ending =)

1st week @ work

Time really flies...my first week at Parkway Shenton has passed!

Nothing much to update coz it's still the honeymoon period. My colleagues seems like nice people at first, but then...they don't really talk much to me except my supervisor and another male colleague called Simon.

And nobody asked me out for lunch today!! My supervisor was away for meeting and the other only female colleague went out with other pple without asking if i wana join. The remaining 2 male colleagues didn't talked about lunch until 12.20pm (they did mention abt where to eat but left it at that).

I didn't want to seem 可怜 or desparate for them to ask me out for lunch, so i pretended i had to go home to get something (which i had really forgot). Luckily my home is just 10 minutes away.

2 new colleagues will be joining my team next week, so hopefully they are easy to get along with and we'll click. Meanwhile shall just enjoy the long weekend and pia for my advance theory on Monday.

All the best to me =)

上海,苏州,杭州行

I’m back from my China trip! It was a really fun and unforgettable experience meandering through the streets of China. I especially like the ancient Chinese architecture – their little pavilions, tiled roofs and 牌坊.

There are also things that I dislike – most of the PRCs are so rude! It’s probably their culture but they like to cut queue, push you around without saying excuse me, and spit on the floor! And it’s not only the older generation, coz on the train that I was on, the teenage girl (probably around 17 or 18) just spat her saliva on the floor like nobody’s business.

One of the other frustrating things is finding food. There are many little roadside stalls but due to hygiene issues, me and Zuyao only ate when we thought that they at least looked decent. But coz of the bird flu, we have to avoid chicken (though we had eggs almost everyday =P ).

Oh, and the weather. The temperature fluctuates quite a lot! In the morning and at night, temperature is rather low and the winds are cold. But it's so hot in the noon! Contrary to my research of average temperature around 22 degrees celsius, it reached 35 degrees one day! Luckily i brought tank tops to be worn underneath my sweaters...

But overall it was better than what I expected. Due to the 黄金假期, I had prepared myself for the worst that there’ll be plenty of people. Of coz there still were, but it was what I can handle so it’s not so bad afterall.

Ok, here’s some photos of my 7D6N China trip:-
