Age is a sensitive issue!

This is the 1st time in my 24 years of life that i totally understand why the age of a woman is a sensitive issue!!!

Today i went to Srico for a haircut. The shampoo boy called Ocen (?? he said "Ocean without the 'a') was, well...shampooing my hair and we made some small talk. It began with some stuff about him studying in Shanghai and somehow the topic drifted to guessing his age. I guessed he was 21,22 and he told me he was only 20. No big deal, since it's commonly agreed that guys should look a bit older than their actual age.

"Why don't you guess my age?" I told him. He hmmm for a while and i said "Don't worry, i won't get angry one lor..." This is something i regretted saying. He guessed that i am 28,29!!!

I was just totally shocked and went in my usual high pitched voice "Huh???!!! 28,29??!"

"Erm...maybe 26,27?" he tried again in a meek voice.

I just totally lost it. HOW CAN I LOOK BEYOND 25 YEARS OLD??? I really can't imagine that!

Anyway, I am not angry...just completely caught off-guard that someone, anyone can actually think that i'm 28,29. I mean, in all seriousness, do i look that old? It's really quite hilarious and amusing in an unbelievable way, if you think abt it.

Perhaps i'm just getting paranoid. I'm 24 now, so 1 more year and i'll be a quarter of a century old. That actually sounds quite old yah? I do already have some fine lines around my eyes, but i think other than that, no other signs of ageing i guess...Anyway it's getting late. I should really get some sleep before my dark eye circles start to set in again...

Shopping spree

The past 2 days were guilt trips!

Despite being on mc, i went shopping with my sis in the evening. Guess where i went?? It's This Fashion! Haha...actually don't look down on the brand, they do carry some real nice finds...that is if you have the patience to rummage through the store.

Anyway, coz it was the last day of their storewide 20% sale and my sis borrowed the member card from her colleague (with additional 10% off), we decided to head for the outlet at Dhoby Ghaut, which is rather big (it occupies 3 levels!). We reached at around 7pm, and shopped till 8.45pm! Quite a while I'd say...After trying several items, i settled for a cargo-like shorts, 1 working top, 1 camisole and a bag. All for only $55.30! Cheap yah? =)

Well, today is a different category of shopping needs. I needed to buy some makeup and skincare stuff.

After knocking off, I proceeded to Centrepoint Pinc to meet Hai 'En for our pedicure. I settled for a orangy colour, with lots of glitter...it looks so flashy! But I kinda like it coz it looks so young and juicy, haha...Hai 'En chose a liquid paper white with glitter, hee...

Anyway, we kept complaining we were hungry and were troubled over what to eat later...then out of the sudden, the manicurist offered us duck rice! 1 pack each! She said her aunt(the owner i guess) bought extra and there's 2 packs left, since nobody's going to eat them, might as well offer it to us. But i guess it might be becoz we are so irritating throughout the session that she thought the duck rice would shut us up for a while...

Our vain beauty session ended around 8.30pm and we walked over to Taka. The Chanel counter is just so pretty!! I tried some of the items and ended up buying TEINT CONTRÔLE EXTRÊME 2-way cake ($81) and Cristalle Gloss in 28 Friandise ($39). The packaging is just so gorgeous!! And there's just something about the name that draws me to buy its stuff! Maybe it's just women...coz we are always wanting to buy new things and we are never satisfied with the current one that we have =P

And i needed a moisturiser too...so i headed to Christian Dior to buy the Hydra Action Deep Hydrating Creme Gel ($85). It got some kind of award from Her World so i thought i'd just try it out since i've finished my Kenzoki Cream With a Sheen. The Kenzoki is quite good actually, has a nice fragrance and is for radiance. But my dry skin desparately needs some water, so decided to give CD a try...

What a spree i had these 2 days huh...and i intend to use the $20 Charles & keith voucher that i've redeemed from zuyao's hsbc points. It's going to expire in September and i need some white heels.

I guess that's all for now...though i spent quite a lot in these 2 days, they are "essential" stuff (except for the pedi lah) in a sense. Anyway my pay cheque is next week, so no harm just spending a little in advance right? =)

My latest favourite local actor

I like Elvin Ng! Ok i know i'm bo liao...but i like his looks! Especially his eyes...can 放电 u know, hahaha...Anyway, for a newbie, i think he acts pretty ok though his pronunciation is really bad. Sounds like he has cotton in his mouth. And he looks good not smiling...there's just something about his teeth that makes him look goofy when smiling.

I know i'm so superficial! Haha...recently nothing much to update besides work, which can get quite boring if my blog is all about work. Really, one should get a life and like what Zuyao says, you have to manage work and not let work manage you. This is so true though difficult to do. But like what one of my interviewer says, 8 hours a day is already very sufficient if you work efficiently. Why sacrifice your personal time (ie. after work hours) for stuffs that can never be finished?
